This weekend Dungeon Party was a great time, lots of old friends rolled by for some loud tunes, great food and laughs. Pat & Janice from New Zealand came out to celebrate her birthday in style with the band while joining in on some old classics from Van Halen and Steppenwolf. I've just added the photos and a brand new Seedgirl has also graced our pages.
Our next show is going to be on October 1 & 2 at JJ's Pub in Edmonton and should be an excellent time. The band enjoys playing there and were always looking forward to the crowds.
The Innicor Show was our first outdoor venue since the band formed and the first outdoor show for Glen and Robin. We setup during the rain on the Saturday afternoon and enjoyed some cold brewskies and Cabo Wabo tequila compliments of Brad from Innicor. We were praying for the rain to break or else it would have been a very wet evening, by 4:00 pm the clouds opened up and blue sky was on the horizon. The BBQ Road Kill Cafe supplied the party goers and the band with a nice dinner of steak, shrimp cabob's and taber corn which hit the spot, (mmm mmm). Once the dinner was out of the way it was time to rock, we played well and heard nothing but good comments from everyone who watched the show, there were no apparent hiccups and the spot lights looked great. With all the real estate available, Robin took advantage of some soloing from outside the tent hanging with the shag grass dancing goo roo's. Read more here.
Our first contest has begun and we are giving away a Badseed T-Shirt to anyone who can come up with the best name for our "Alien Baby" in the upper left hand corner of your screen. He's going to be the bands new mascot and seeing as how he we dont know what to call him, now's your chance to be the one to name him and and also get something in return. We are heading out to the Innicor show this morning, we have a full day of setup and preparations. Were hoping for sunshine but it doesn't look very good right as I pear out the window. I'll post some new pictures tomorrow once weve recovered. Cheers!
Our INNICOR show is a go this Saturday night and the guys in the band our really looking forward to playing our first outdoor gig. The weatherman has some rain in the forcast but tells us it should subside prior to the band going on around 8:30 pm. Innicor is a large company devoted to supplying the Oil and Gas Industry with subsurface products and other services, there is a BBQ planned and we should have a good crowd of around 100. The show is for Innicor employees, friends and family so if you want to go you'll have to be a roady and come help us load gear.
Also, we are looking to put together our first DUNGEON PARTY night with some of our closest friends in other bands around Edmonton, we are shooting for August 28th, so if you want to come send me an email.
Well we finally managed to get the domain we wanted, BADSEED.CA is now the official web address for the band and it looks sweet up there in the address bar. Webmasters and users please update your links.
Also, on another note, Glen and I managed to take in the Nazareth show last night at Klondike Days here in Edmonton. The old guys pulled off favorites like "This Flight Tonight", "Love Hurts" and of course "Razamanaz!". The pipes on Dan McCafferty were in fine form and the band sounded solid. We managed to take in the beer gardens and enjoy some mini donuts as well, good fun and we look forward to seeing Sam Roberts on Saturday night.
