What looked to be a dead weekend due to the Klondike Days Ex and summer heat turned into two nights of awesome music, friends and drinkin. Badseed managed to pull it off once again in an audition show at Yesterday's Pub with no major hiccups or technical difficulties. The band played "Slither" by Velvet Revolver for the first time and it went over better than we expected, we also had a visit from Todd James from The Bear who said "We Kicked Ass", thanks for stopping by Todd.
We managed to get some great pics and the new fogger did the trick adding excellent effects to the stage which I might add looked awesome there. All the newest photos can be found here or by clicking the pics below. Things are coming together nicely and we are now looking forward to our next show in Sherwood Park for the Innicor BBQ, sorry but this one's a private function so if you want to go you have to help haul gear and be apart of the stage crew. Email me if your interested, I hear the burgers and bear will be most excellent. Thanks to all who came out this weekend and Karen who is the newest Seed Girl, you rock Karen!!
The boyz have been practicing diligently during our four week break to bring the music to the next level. Preparations are underway and the St.Albert show at Yesterday's Pub ( July 23/24) should be a killer. Theres some original ideas starting to develop as well, our first song is named "Are You Angry" and has a sweet bass driven feel. Were going to fine tune it for St.Albert so you can all hear it.
We've also been asked back to play JJ's and Duster's Pub, were looking at October 1st and 2nd for JJ's and maybe shooting into Duster's around Halloween or mid November. I'll keep yah posted or just check our show schedule here on the site. Thanks for visiting.
The band had been looking forward to rocking JJ’s Pub for quite some time so when we finally had the chance nothing was held back. Both nights were a total success with our sets coming together into a smooth flow of sound and you can tell the band is growing into a solid unit, learning cues from each other and fine tuning every aspect of live performance.
Friday night the club was standing room only and with the dance floor full of hootched up rockhead’s it was easy for the band to stay in good spirits, shooters were on the agenda and there were no shortage of tequila and the infamous JJ’s Sour Pussy special. Saturday brought on hangovers, headaches and the not so hot “flasher chick” which will be hard to forget unfortunately. Our special guest singer Gayle sang an awesome rendition of “Shine” by Collective Soul without a hitch and I want to thank Tasha for being our token seed girl as well as Gen, Mark, Jamie, Gordy Brown and all the dragon fans. Our next show is July 23/24 at Yesterday’s Pub in St.Albert, don’t miss it.
Check the photo's page to see some of the pics, I've also added a new wallpaper section to the website. Take a look by clicking Downloads. Thanks and see you at Yesterdays!
Badseed will be playing at JJ's Pub tonight and tomorrow night ( June 18/19) as part of the "Tearin It Up in 04 Tour". The band is expecting a huge crowd for both shows and suggest you get there early if you want a seat. JJ's is located on St.Albert trail and 118th Ave in Edmonton right next to the Domo at the traffic circle.
Once we get this show behind us, the band will be focusing more towards original material and rumour has it they may be hitting the studio to record a demo CD in July as well. Keep checking the site for more information and don't forget to use our forums.
It took four months of preparation to get to this point and it all came together when it counted. Badseed, along with "Right In The Eye Production" rocked Duster's Pub on both nights this weekend. Having had the chance to shake things out on Friday, Saturday turned into a mayhem of music with little to no errors.
The band was in great spirits, Robin played excellent and it seemed Glen found "the zone" however the star of Saturday night was "the dragon", nailing down "Highway To Hell" and working the crowd with his special talents. About 75% of the club filled both days and the atmosphere at Duster's was very friendly and "cheers like". I want to thank Staz & Pete as well as Jen at Duster's for having faith in us and keeping the band hydrated at all times, "flip flops" are ok Jen. Props go out to Nancy, Cindy, Kate and Debbie for the best moves on the dance floor.
